AI features and credits
Turn on AI in the app, see what each AI feature does and where it is, how credits work by plan, and what is sent to the AI.
ForgeCast's AI helps across the app. It writes chat actions from a description, titles for your streams and Shorts, and whole overlays and plugins. During a stream it summarizes chat, translates it, flags scams and answers viewers' questions from your notes. Afterwards it reports how the stream did, every week it reports on your last 7 days, and it writes the stream's story. It runs on ForgeCast's servers with Google Gemini. You don't need an AI account or key of your own.
Turn it on
In the app, open Settings → AI and switch on Use AI. From then on the AI features appear where they belong, marked with a sparkle. Switch it off the same way and they disappear.
In the same place you can set:
- Language: what your viewers see (titles, polls, chat replies). Like my chat follows your audience, including Hinglish.
- Tone: friendly, hyped, chill, professional or funny.
- About your stream: your schedule, PC and settings, rules, Discord, the games you play. The chat assistant answers only from these notes, and the title writer reads them.
Credits
Each AI request costs a few credits; the price is shown next to every AI button before you press it.
| Plan | Credits each month |
|---|---|
| Free | 30 |
| Pro | 400 |
| Ultimate | 1,200 |
- Your plan's credits arrive at the start of each month (UTC). Unused ones don't carry over.
- If you upgrade during the month, you get the difference straight away.
- Bonus credits from ForgeCast are kept until you use them. They're spent after the month's credits.
- A request that fails gives its credits back.
- The live helpers (translation, moderation, the chat assistant) are paid by the 10 minutes while they're on. Nothing is charged while no chat is coming in.
Settings → AI shows what you have left and your recent credit history.
AI workers
Everything you ask the AI for runs in the background, in AI workers (the sparkle at the top of the app). You can close the window you asked from: the work goes on, and the result waits there when you open it again. It also comes back if ForgeCast restarts in the meantime.
- Watch it work. Each request says what it is doing, step by step: for a plugin, Created plugin.json, Wrote main.lua, Checked the code, Found 1 problem: fixing it, Plugin ready. The same steps show in the window you asked from.
- How many at once. Ultimate runs 5 AI requests at the same time; Free and Pro run 1. Anything more waits its turn and starts by itself when a worker is free.
- Stop. Press Stop on a request that is running: it stops at its next step and its credits come back.
- When something finishes while its window is closed, a notice says so. For a plugin, Review and install opens it, so you can look it over before you install it.
What each feature does, and where it is
| Feature | Where | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Chat action from words: describe what should happen and get a working chat action, shown to you before it's added | Chat Actions → New action → Describe it to AI | 1 |
| Stream title writer: 3-5 titles in your channel's style, a description and hashtags; put one on the stream with a click | Dashboard → your streams → the sparkle beside a live or upcoming stream | 2 |
| Find a sound: describe a sound ("the GTA wasted one") and the AI searches the catalog a few ways | Sounds → Find sounds → Describe it | 1 |
| Overlay from a prompt (Pro, Ultimate): a whole overlay or widget, designed, checked and added to your library, ready to use or edit | Marketplace → Make your own → Describe it to AI | 15 |
| Plugin from a prompt (Pro, Ultimate): a Lua plugin, checked before you get it and installed switched off | Plugins → Write with AI | 15 |
| What did I miss?: a real summary of chat after a break, problems first (no audio, lag) | Beta: What did I miss? → Summarize with AI | 2 |
| Question queue tidy: merges repeated questions, dismisses noise, suggests short answers | Beta: Questions → Tidy | 1 |
| Poll from the moment: a poll about what chat is talking about right now | Beta: Chat poll → Suggest | 1 |
| Stream story: the stream's story, highlights with times, a community post and a thank-you | Beta: Stream recap → open a recap → Write it | 4 |
| Clip titles: Shorts titles and hashtags from what chat said before the clip | Beta: Clips → the sparkle on a clip | 1 |
| Stream report: how a stream did against your usual (viewers, chat, the shape of the viewer curve), what worked and what to try next. With Ultimate it looks deeper: where the stream ranks, against streams on the same day, at the same start time and of the same length, how long viewers stayed, when to stream next and a title idea | Home → Your streams → the last stream, or click any stream on the graph | 2 |
| 7-day report: your last 7 days against the week before, patterns from up to 90 days of streams (days, start times, lengths, titles), a plan and a goal for next week | Home → Your streams → Last 7 days | 4 |
| Growth coach (Ultimate): advice from your recent streams (when, how long, what worked) | Beta: Stream recap → Coach | 8 |
| Chat translation: chat in other languages, translated under each line | Dashboard → AI helpers | 1 per 10 min |
| Smart moderation: flags scams, spam and abuse that word lists miss (it never deletes anything) | Dashboard → AI helpers | 1 per 10 min |
| Chat assistant: answers viewers' questions from your notes, posted after you press Post or by itself | Dashboard → AI helpers | 1 per 10 min |
The beta features appear in beta builds of the app, under Beta Lab.
Reports on your streams
The app records each stream you go live with while it's open, for every plan and kept on your PC. With AI on, the reports write themselves: one a few seconds after a stream of 10 minutes or more ends, and a 7-day report once a week when you streamed that week. Switch that off under Settings → AI → Stream reports and write them only when you ask, on Home.
The numbers in a report are worked out by ForgeCast, not guessed by the AI: it gets your streams' numbers and explains them, and a report that quotes a percentage that isn't in your numbers is sent back to be fixed.
AI makes mistakes
Look at what the AI made before you use it: an action before you add it, a plugin's permissions before you turn it on, a reply before it goes out. Chat assistant replies are posted with your channel's YouTube allowance, like any other reply.
What is sent, and what isn't
When you use an AI feature, what it needs is sent through ForgeCast to Google Gemini to answer:
- your description;
- for the chat helpers, the chat lines involved;
- your notes about your stream, for the assistant;
- for the reports, your streams' numbers (dates, length, viewers, chat and support counts, titles); for a stream report, the viewer curve too (and with Ultimate, up to 60 earlier streams for the deeper look).
ForgeCast keeps:
- your credit history;
- an AI request's result for a few days, so the app can collect it.
The chat lines and descriptions you send are deleted as soon as the request is done. Your YouTube sign-in and keys are never sent to the AI.
Viewers' messages are treated as text to read, never as instructions. A viewer can't make the assistant post links or say things that aren't in your notes.
